Children

Serving children from infancy through the sixth grade.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

Children are very precious in the Lord’s sight and they are precious to us at LifePoint Church. We strive to assist the family in laying a spiritual foundation that will lead a child into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life of service to Him.

Children’s programs offered by LifePoint include:

  • Nursery at all services (birth through 24 months)
  • Sunday School (2 years – 6th grade)
  • Wednesday Evening – Nursery and AWANA (birth – 6th grade) September-May
  • Wednesday night fun (school age children) May-August

Special activities include, among others, Vacation Bible School (June), School Celebration (Sept), a missions festival (Oct) and church wide Roller-skating at Saints North (Jan)

We also support the camping programs of Converge North Central at Trout Lake Camp.

“I will teach all of your children. They will enjoy great peace.” Isaiah 54:13

For each child our goals are:

  • To feel loved and valued by God and their teachers
  • To have a positive church experience
  • To be an important part of the church family
  • To know Jesus Christ as friend, Savior and Lord
  • To apply Scripture to their personal life
  • To participate in worship, study, Bible memorization, fellowship and service

Children’s Ministry – Sunday School Curriculum Plan

Age 2-Kindergarten – Heartshaper by Standard Publishing
HeartShaper introduces children to God, His Son, His Word, and His Church through meaningful Sunday school lessons that include active participation in Bible stories and Bible study, multisensory learning, Bible skill-building activities, and focused life application.

Grade 1-2 – The ABC’s of God by Children Desiring God
The ABCs of God is a study for children on the greatness and worth of God. It uses the alphabet as a framework for learning the attributes of God and other terms that describe His character, at an age-appropriate level. (Note that attributes are purposely not taught in alphabetical order.) Each lesson asks and answers three key questions, “Who is God?” “What is He like?” and “How should I act toward Him?” as it presents a theology of God for children. Through the use of a teaching aid called “The Blessing Box,” students will discover a new attribute of God each week and will be challenged to consider how they should respond to an amazing God who is worthy of their greatest love, honor, trust, and obedience.

Grade 1-2 – Faithful to all His Promises by Children Desiring God
Faithful to All His Promises is a study for children on the promises of God. Children will not simply learn about some of God’s promises, but rather, they will discover what it means to trust in those promises which are God’s gift to us, not something we deserve. Faithful to All His Promises begins by teaching children what a promise is, what makes God trustworthy with these promises, and who these promises are for. Then children get to explore some specific promises from God to see how He has been and will be faithful to each of those promises.

Grade 5-6 – NEW THIS FALL – 4:12 Experience
This is a new class set up to help children transition from Children’s Ministry to Youth Ministry. We will be working with the Director of Youth Ministry as we go through the year. More information will be available this fall!
